چکیده
From 09.01.05 to 14.01.05, the Dagstuhl Seminar 05021 Mathematics, Algorithms, Proofs was held in the International Conference and Research Center (IBFI), Schloss Dagstuhl. During the seminar, several participants presented their current research, and ongoing work and open problems were discussed. Abstracts of the presentations given during the seminar as well as abstracts of seminar results and ideas are put together in this paper. The rst section describes the seminar topics and goals in general. Links to extended abstracts or full papers are provided, if available.

A nonstandard proof of a lemma from constructive measure theory
The conceptual gulf between constructive analysis (in the sense of Bishop [1]) and nonstandard analysis (in the sense of Robinson [7]) is vast, despite the historical genesis of both methodologies from foundational considerations. Those who use nonstandard arguments often say of their proofs that they are “constructive modulo an ultrafilter”; implicit in this statement is the suggestion that su...
متن کاملThe Constructive Content of Nonstandard Measure Existence Proofs - Is There Any?
Some examples are given which cast some light on such questions as: What (if any) constructive sense can be made out of typical nonstandard measure existence results? Can NSA give any insight into constructive measure
متن کاملA functional interpretation for nonstandard arithmetic
We introduce constructive and classical systems for nonstandard arithmetic and show how variants of the functional interpretations due to Gödel and Shoenfield can be used to rewrite proofs performed in these systems into standard ones. These functional interpretations show in particular that our nonstandard systems are conservative extensions of E-HA and E-PA, strengthening earlier results by M...
متن کاملClassical logic as limit completion
We define a constructive model for ∆2-maps, that is, maps recursively definable from a map deciding the halting problem. Our model refines existing constructive interpretation for classical reasoning over one-quantifier formulas: it is compositional (Modus Ponens is interpreted as an application) and semantical (rather than translating classical proofs into intuitionistic ones, we define a math...
متن کاملNonstandard Functional Interpretations and Categorical Models
Recently, the second author, Briseid and Safarik introduced nonstandard Dialectica, a functional interpretation that is capable of eliminating instances of familiar principles of nonstandard arithmetic including overspill, underspill, and generalisations to higher types from proofs. We show that, under few metatheoretical assumptions, the properties of this interpretation are mirrored by first ...
